THE FISHING:
Amid the natural beauty of Colorado, at the Broadacres Ranch you will find
more than enough activities to fill your time. A definite "must" for any
angler is, of course fishing. The ranch features several scenic lakes,
three miles of the Rio Grande River and a mile of Shallow Creek filled
with trout - just waiting for you to test your skills. The trout in these
waters are aggressive and seem almost anxious to be caught.
It's easy fishing from the banks of the river, lakes or creek.
Float trips may be arranged through the lodge in advance.
Browns, Rainbows, Cutbow and Cutthroats await you.
With advance notice, white water raft trips or horseback riding are
available. There are private hiking trails and picnic areas, and
Broadacres has direct access to spectacular National Forest trails, which
make for exciting day trips. High altitude sight seeing via 4x4 is another
beckoning adventure. An hour away is the breathtaking Alpine Loop Four
Wheel Drive Road; it offers incredible views of numerous 14,000 plus foot
mountains and the spectacular wild flowers of the American Basin. There is
also Bachelors' Loop Historic Mining Tour which takes you up and around
historic Creede mines, passing beaver ponds and picture- perfect groves of
aspens and spruce along the way.

ACCOMMODATIONS
Everyone who comes to Broadacres has a private, modern
cabin. The beautifully appointed cabins are furnished comfortably and
feature modern bathrooms, kitchens and well appointed living areas and
bedrooms. Though there are kitchens for your convenience, you probably
won't spend much tome there, since the meals are included in your package
and are served in style at Glenmora Lodge.
 Porches
are an added feature to the cabins and afford a quiet place to leisurely
enjoy your surroundings and relax. Birds, lakes, forests and of course
mountains provide the panoramic view that makes Broadacres special.
MEALS
All meals, except the Continental Breakfast - which is served in
your cabin, are served in the Dining room at Glenmora Lodge, from
the scrumptious lunch to the sumptuous gourmet dinner which is
accompanied by wine. |
